Funeral Homes & Cremation
Perches - La Paz
Our History
Since 1958, Perches Funeral Homes has served families of all faiths who have suffered the death of a loved one. Our commitment for over fifty years has been to assist those who have been touched by such a loss with dignified, personal service at a reasonable, affordable cost.
In 1995 we opened our doors in El Paso, Texas to offer dignified services at a more affordable price to the community. We believe it is an honor in serving your family in these most difficult times, striving to provide everyone with information about funeral and cremation services so that families are able to make informed decisions.
Currently as of 2016, we have 4 locations in El Paso with our newest addition this year in West El Paso. Accordingly, we have La Paz-Graham’s Funeral Home in Las Cruces,NM.
Because of our expertise in the border city, we specialize in ship-outs to all of Mexico.
Juan Gabriel
The images of hundreds of thousands who paid their final respects to the late Mexican singing-songwriting superstar Juan Gabriel make the scene reminiscent of that of the funeral of a head of state. But that is just how beloved “El Divo de Juárez,” as he is known to his cheering audiences, is to millions.
To many of his mournful fans, Juan Gabriel is as one of his most iconic songs is named, an “Amor Eterno, an “eternal love.”
Funeral Director of the Year
Funeral Director of the Year
This month, Perches was named Funeral Director of the Year by American Funeral Director, the “leading independent trade magazine for funeral directors nationwide.” The magazine honored him for his charitable work on both sides of the border and for serving victims in Juárez.
“This year, we celebrate Salvador Perches… as the recipient of our 2013 Funeral Director of the Year award, for his steadfast dedication to the families he serves – particularly the poor and victims of violence,” the magazine wrote in its December cover story.
Under the company name Grupo Perches, Perches owns and operates 19 funeral homes, including 11 in Juárez and four in El Paso, as well as funeral homes in Las Cruces, San Diego, Escondido and Tijuana. He says he is the only funeral director to own funeral homes in both El Paso and Juárez.
Perches also owns a pet crematorium and casket factory and he operates a small informal embalming school in Mexico.
Workers make unique gift for pope
Unique Gift for Pope
While many refer to the altar as the stage area where the pope will be during mass at El Punto, the altar is the table used for the Eucharist celebration. It’s being made by 7 workers from the Perches Funeral Homes in Juárez.
“This idea came about from a group of businessmen and women from Juárez and El Paso,” says Omar Acosta, operations manager for the altar.
The businesses from both sides of the border are funding the altar and the ambo, which is the stand or pulpit used to place the bible.
